Johnny Looch has been rockin' and rollin', stompin' and strollin' since the tender age of 13. He began his career under the wings of his Uncle Joe Booty who taught him how to spin records in the heart of South Philadelphia.
In this close-knit community where family ties are strong, Looch got his first taste of the power of using music to unite family and friends. While attending Central High School and then Drexel University, Johnny Looch began as a solo disc jockey at parties and weddings, which helped fund his college education (Class of Drexel '94).
For more than 20 years, he has played an instrumental role in some of life's biggest moments, including weddings, christenings, bar/bat mitzvahs, birthday celebrations, retirement parties, and more. In total, Johnny Looch has touched the lives of thousands of people. In fact, most of Johnny Looch's business comes from word of mouth.
In recent years, Johnny Looch's reputation for helping to create unforgettable events has allowed him to expand from private celebrations to public entertainment. He can now be found getting the "Looch Groove" on at some of the hottest nighttime entertainment venues such as Table 31, Philadelphia; Mia's in Caesar's Casino, Atlantic City (summertime); Ventura's Greenhouse Restaurant, Margate (summertime) and the 2012 Hair O' the Dog party, Philadelphia.
Whether it's a private or public celebration, it is the common thread of bringing people together that continues to inspire Johnny Looch today. No greater smile can be found than the one on Looch's face when family and friends are dancing, laughing, and enjoying each other's company.
